Who we are

Imhotep Legacy Academy (ILA) is an innovative university-community outreach partnership that uniquely mobilizes university/college students, faculty and community leaders to help improve student success and bridge the achievement gap for Grades 7-12 students of African heritage in Nova Scotia. 

We provide a conduit of support programs that blend real-world learning projects with rigorous academic enrichment, skill-building, and leadership development activities.  Our programs are designed to prepare students for success in junior high school, high school, university, the workforce, and civic life.

Our Programs
